Interesting Article and Map of Canopy Height
My friend emailed this link to me. It discusses a fascinating way of measuring the forest canopy height for the whole globe. The maximum height displayed on the map is 40 meters (about 130 feet), which doesn't reflect the outstanding height of the redwood forests and the eucalyptus forests in Australia and New Zealand, although the article does mention the eucalyptus forests. Researchers would like to use the data to help estimate the biomass of the forests.
